Iran’s Foreign Minister Minimizes Impact of Drone Attack, States Tehran is Conducting Investigation

Reading Time: < 1 minute

Iranian Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian downplayed an overnight attack on Iran, stating that the drones involved were more like toys than actual military equipment. He mentioned that the drones took off from inside Iran and flew only a few hundred meters before being downed.

Amirabdollahian told NBC News that there was no proven link between the attack and Israel, despite media reports suggesting otherwise. Iranian media described the incident as an attack by “infiltrators” rather than by Israel, avoiding the need for retaliation.

However, Amirabdollahian warned that if Israel were to retaliate and act against Iran’s interests, Tehran’s response would be immediate and at a maximum level. He emphasized that if Israel refrained from further action, the matter would be considered concluded.

The attack targeted an Iranian Air Force base near Isfahan, causing minimal damage and not hitting any strategic sites. Israel has not commented on the incident, and the United States has denied involvement in any offensive operations.

Tensions between Iran and Israel have been escalating, with recent attacks and retaliations leading to concerns of a direct conflict. The situation remains volatile, with both sides on high alert for any further provocations.
