Isaiah Buggs, Chiefs defensive tackle, accused of animal cruelty and pushing Tuscaloosa police chief

Kansas City Chiefs defensive tackle Isaiah Buggs is facing serious allegations of animal cruelty in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. According to a civil petition filed on Wednesday, Buggs has been accused of leaving two dogs trapped without food or water for as many as 10 days. The petition mentions that an investigator has obtained two misdemeanor warrants for cruelty to dogs or cats in the second degree.

The circumstances surrounding the case are disturbing, with the dogs reportedly found malnourished, emaciated, and neglected. One of the dogs, a pit bull, had to be euthanized due to increased aggressiveness and a failed heartworm treatment. The other dog, a Rottweiler mix, tested positive for Parvo and weighed only 52 pounds despite being 3 years old.

Investigators determined that the house where the dogs were found was rented by Buggs, who had moved out in March. Buggs, who has made $5.3 million in his NFL career, is now facing legal troubles not only for the animal cruelty allegations but also for an incident where he allegedly shoved the Tuscaloosa police chief.

Buggs’ agent has released a statement denying the allegations and claiming that they are part of a campaign to force him to close his business, Kings Hookah Lounge.
