Israel has briefed the Biden administration on its plan to evacuate Palestinians from Rafah ahead of a potential invasion of the southern Gazan city, US officials revealed. The United Nations humanitarian aid agency has warned that hundreds of thousands of people in Rafah could be at imminent risk of death if Israel goes ahead with its operation, as the city serves as a crucial entry point for humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip.

While negotiations for a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas are ongoing, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has vowed to eliminate Hamas’ presence in Rafah, regardless of any agreements reached.
