Israeli airstrike kills Hezbollah commander | World News

Israel’s military has claimed a significant victory in their ongoing conflict with Hezbollah, announcing the successful airstrike that killed the commander of Hezbollah’s coastal sector, Ismail Yusaf Baz. The Israel Defence Forces (IDF) reported that the strike took place in the Ain Ebel area of Lebanon, approximately 7km north of the Israeli border.

According to the IDF, Baz was a key figure in Hezbollah’s military wing and was responsible for planning rocket and anti-tank missile attacks on Israel from Lebanon’s coastal region. The airstrike, carried out by an Israeli aircraft, effectively eliminated Baz and dealt a significant blow to Hezbollah’s operations in the area.

In response to the attack, Hezbollah reportedly launched a drone attack that injured three individuals. The group also claimed to have targeted Israel’s Iron Dome air defense units in Beit Hillel, resulting in casualties among the crew members.

As tensions escalate between Israel and Iran-backed groups like Hezbollah, international pressure is mounting to prevent further escalation of the conflict. Israel’s military chief of staff, Herzi Halevi, has made it clear that any attacks on Israel will be met with a swift response.

While no deaths were reported in the recent attacks, a seven-year-old girl named Amina Hassouna remains in critical condition after being injured by shrapnel from an intercepted ballistic missile. She is currently receiving treatment at the Soroka Medical Centre and is on artificial ventilation.
