An 18-year-old Israeli woman, Noga Weiss, shared her harrowing experience of being abducted by Hamas militants from her home in Kibbutz Be’eri and held captive for 50 days. During her captivity, one of the captors expressed his desire to marry her and have children with her, even giving her a ring on day 14.
Weiss recalled the chilling moment when the captor told her, “Everyone will be released, but you will stay here with me and have my children.” She pretended to laugh to avoid being shot in the head. Her mother, Shiri, was also kidnapped on the same day, but they were eventually reunited after several days.
The ordeal began on October 7, 2023, when thousands of Hamas militants invaded Israel, resulting in the death of Noga’s father, Ilan. The militants shot at the door of their home, forcing Noga to hide under the bed as her mother urged her to do so for safety.
After being released on November 25th, Noga Weiss shared the trauma she endured during her captivity, expressing her fear of being shot at any moment. She also highlighted the inhumane conditions they were subjected to, including limited water supply and constant threat of violence.
As she continues to cope with the aftermath of her abduction, Noga struggles to mourn her father while knowing that there are still hostages in Gaza enduring similar ordeals. Her story sheds light on the lasting impact of such traumatic experiences and the resilience needed to overcome them.
