Israeli Military Displays Intercepted Iranian Missile | Global News

The Israeli military has put on display one of the Iranian ballistic missiles that was intercepted over the weekend in a dramatic show of force at the Julis Military Base in Israel. The missile was part of a barrage of over 300 missiles and attack drones launched by Iran in response to an alleged Israeli airstrike that killed two Iranian generals in Syria on April 1.

Despite the overwhelming number of projectiles launched by Iran, with the help of the United States, the United Kingdom, Jordan, and other countries, Israel managed to intercept nearly all of them, preventing major casualties or damage. This marked the first direct military strike on Israel by Iran after decades of hostility between the two nations dating back to Iran’s 1979 Islamic Revolution.

Israeli military spokesman Rear Adm. Daniel Hagari displayed the remnants of the intercepted missile at the army base, revealing that each warhead carried over half a ton of explosives. Hagari emphasized that the international coalition’s successful interception sent a powerful message to Iran.

In response to the attack, Hagari warned that Israel would not let Iran off “scot-free” and vowed a retaliatory response at a time and place of their choosing. Meanwhile, an Iranian official issued a stern warning, stating that Iran would respond within seconds if Israel attempted any further action.

The United States and other allies of Israel have called for restraint and urged against any further escalation of tensions between the two countries. The situation remains tense as both sides brace for potential retaliation and further developments in this ongoing conflict.
