This includes researching, designing, documenting and modifying software specifications throughout the production lifecycle.Starting pay: $70,000 – $110,000 depending on knowledge and experienceBe ready to:

  • review programming requirements and provide analysis and development of specifications
  • develop and review detailed system designs with project team
  • develop and coordinate technical implementation plan
  • desk-check and unit test program code, assist with system testing
  • develop program logic
  • perform code reviews
  • prepare and update all necessary documentation
  • perform implementation activities
  • provide production support, including on-call rotation and technical assistance
  • review schedules, objectives and priorities with service manager
  • initiate suggestions for improvement to systems and procedures
  • assist with routine work of the department as required

QualificationsBe equipped with:

  • experience in programming C#, Java, and XML/XSLT
  • knowledge of the software development life cycle
  • experience with ASP.net, VBScript, JavaScript, AngularJS. HTML/CSS, IIS and JBoss
  • three or more years as a software developer programming in a complex distributed environment
  • experience with SQL Server
  • excellent communication and teamwork skills with the proven ability to multi-task
  • the ability to provide application support, including responding to support after business hours
  • effectively troubleshoot, debug and solve complex issues
  • knowledge of file handling and manipulation tools and techniques
  • strong analytical and organizational skills
  • the ability to translate business requirements into technical specifications
  • self-starter and able to perform job with moderate supervision
  • the ability to work in a team environment and to complete work independently

Preferred experience:

  • ACORD AL3 and ACORD XML standards
  • experience with Agency Vendor Systems (ex. Applied, Vertafore)
  • experience working with infrastructure, load balancers, firewalls and security
