The highly anticipated second Sync Digital Wellbeing Summit 2024 is set to take place at the King Abdulaziz Center for World Culture, Ithra, after a two-year break. The event, scheduled for May 22 and 23, will bring together 110 digital experts and 70 speakers from 20 countries to delve into the intersection of technology and wellness.

Under the theme “Confronting the Digital Paradox,” the summit will address pressing issues such as algorithmic homogenization, AI’s impact on creative industries, and misinformation. The event aims to spark meaningful discussions and collective actions for a better digital future, according to Wadha Al-Nafjan, head of digital wellbeing at Sync.

The summit will feature two days of engaging panels, fireside chats, keynote talks, and special sessions. Day one will focus on wrestling with the tensions of the digital era, while day two will explore shaping our relationship with digital for a better future.

Research conducted by the Sync team revealed interesting insights, with concerns about personal data collection, struggles to maintain work-life boundaries, and the addictive nature of social media among the key findings. Despite these challenges, participants also acknowledged the benefits of technology in enabling flexible work and study opportunities.

Notable speakers at the summit include US data scientist Rumman Chowdhury, Saudi athlete Abdulaziz Alshehri, and Apple Inc. co-founder Steve Wozniak. The event will also feature interactive sessions, forums, and immersive experiences to bridge the gap between research, industry practices, and end-users in the realm of digital wellbeing.

Registration for the summit is now open, and attendance is free, offering a unique opportunity for individuals to engage with experts and thought leaders in the digital wellness space.
