The Office of Marketing and Communications at IU Northwest has recently received three prestigious awards from Collegiate Advertising, recognizing their excellence in higher education marketing and advertising. The team was honored for their outstanding work on projects such as the IU Day 2023 t-shirt design, the 2023 Juneteenth Banner, and a feature story on CURE’s involvement with Senate Bill 157.
In addition to the marketing and advertising awards, several faculty and staff members were also recognized for their exceptional contributions. Faculty members like Jonathyne Briggs, Monica Solinas-Saunders, Eunjoo Kim, and others received awards for their research, service, teaching, and academic advising.
Furthermore, outstanding staff members like Patty Woosley, Pam King, TerryAnn Defenser, and Juan Casas were acknowledged for their exceptional customer service, pride, and overall excellence in their respective roles.
Several faculty members were also granted sabbatical leaves for the upcoming academic year to pursue various research and professional development projects. From exploring high-performance computing deployment to investigating political efficacy in South Korea, the faculty members have exciting plans ahead during their sabbatical leaves.
Moreover, publishing accolades were also celebrated, with Erin Argyilan, Kris Huysken, and Robert Votaw’s work being published in the Journal of Scholarship of Teaching and Learning. Additionally, Iztok Hozo, Professor of Mathematics, published a book with Springer and several peer-reviewed articles in the past academic year.
Lastly, Anja Matwijkiw, Professor of Professional Ethics and Human Rights, was invited as a keynote speaker at the Jean Monnet EU-GLOBACT inaugural conference in Italy, where she presented on the “Value Test of ‘Global Europe’ in the Context of United Nations Law.”
