Reading Time: < 1 minute

Ons Jabeur, the No 8 seed from Tunisia, showcased her resilience and determination as she advanced to the third round of Roland-Garros after a hard-fought victory over Colombia’s Camila Osorio in Paris on Wednesday.

The match was a rollercoaster of emotions for Jabeur, who started strong by winning the first set 6-3. However, Osorio fought back fiercely in the second set, dominating with a 6-1 win. With the match hanging in the balance, Jabeur managed to regroup and secure the victory by winning the third set 6-3, in a set that saw five breaks of serve.

Ranked No 9 in the world, Jabeur now looks forward to facing the winner of the match between Canadian Leylah Fernandez, the No 31 seed, and Chinese Xiyu Wang in the next round. Earlier in the week, Jabeur defeated American wildcard Sachia Vickery with a score of 6-3, 6-2.

In the previous round, Osorio, ranked No 77, advanced due to the retirement of Ukraine’s Anhelina Kalinina. The tournament continues with exciting matches in Paris, with players like Sofia Kenin, Aryna Sabalenka, and Naomi Osaka set to compete in the upcoming rounds.

Jabeur’s performance at Roland-Garros has been impressive so far, and fans are eager to see how far she can go in the tournament. Stay tuned for more updates on the action-packed matches at the Grand Slam event in Paris.
