JAC Motors Expands T-Series Double-Cab Range with New T8 2.0L CTi 4×2 Lux Model

JAC Motors has made a significant move in the competitive double-cab bakkie market by introducing the new T8 2.0L CTi 4×2 Lux derivative priced at R399,900. This expansion comes in response to the growing competition in the market, with new brands entering and facing tough competition from established players.

Karl-Heinz Göbel, CEO of JAC Motors South Africa, highlighted the shift towards lifestyle double-cabs and the importance of offering buyers more options. Market research has shown that buyers prioritize established local brands with competitive pricing and extensive dealer networks.

Since its launch in 2017, JAC Motors has expanded its product line-up and dealer network, now boasting over 70 dealerships across Southern Africa. The T-Series has been a key focus, with the T8 1.9L TDI introduced in 2019 and now the upgraded T8 2.0L CTi model in 2023.

The new T8 model comes packed with safety features, including airbags, traction control, and electronic stability control. It also offers a range of comfort and convenience features, such as leather seats, a multi-function steering wheel, and a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system.

Under the hood, the T8 is powered by a fuel-efficient 2.0-litre turbo-diesel engine, delivering 104 kW and 320 Nm of torque. With a 6-speed manual transmission, the T8 offers a smooth driving experience and impressive fuel efficiency.

The T8’s modern design, off-road capabilities, and competitive pricing make it a compelling option for buyers in the double-cab bakkie market. With a range of models and customization options available, JAC Motors is aiming to capture a larger share of the market with its expanded T-Series range.
