Jacqueliene Fernandez, the popular Bollywood actress, is all set to make a grand appearance at the Cannes Film Festival. Excited about walking the prestigious red carpet, Jacqueliene expressed her enthusiasm, stating, “I am super excited to go to the Cannes Film Festival once again this year, this time in association with BMW and I cannot wait for it.”
The Bharat Pavilion was inaugurated at the festival, with Secretary, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Sanjay Jaju and Jawed Ashraf, Ambassador of India to France, attending the event. The pavilion, hosted by the Information and Broadcasting Ministry, Government of India, aims to showcase India’s rich cinematic heritage and foster international collaborations with the global film fraternity.
Tholoana Rose Ncheke, Chairperson, National Film and Video Foundation, South Africa, Christian Jeune, Director of the Films Department, Deputy General Delegate, Cannes Film Festival, and Filmmaker Richie Mehta also graced the inauguration of the Bharat Pavilion.
Sanjay Jaju highlighted the increased presence of Indian projects in the Cannes official selection this year, emphasizing the government’s support towards the film industry. The Bharat Pavilion serves as a hub for networking, collaboration, and promotion of Indian cinema on a global platform.
India’s first-ever Bharat Parv at the Cannes Film Festival will engage with film celebrities, filmmakers, directors, producers, buyers, and sales agents worldwide, showcasing the country’s creative opportunities and talent. Additionally, the official poster and trailer of the 55th India International Film Festival (IFFI) will be unveiled at the Bharat Parv, scheduled to be held in Goa from November 20 to 28.
