Delhi Capitals’ young batting sensation Jake Fraser McGurk has set a new record in the Indian Premier League (IPL) by becoming the first player ever to score three half-centuries in 20 balls or less. The Australian cricketer achieved this remarkable feat during a match against Rajasthan Royals at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi.

Fraser McGurk’s explosive batting display saw him score 50 runs off just 20 balls, including seven fours and three sixes, at a strike rate of 250.00. One of the highlights of his innings was when he smashed 28 runs off an over bowled by Avesh Khan, a reserve bowler in India’s T20 World Cup squad, hitting four boundaries and two sixes.

This season, Fraser McGurk has been in sensational form, scoring quickfire half-centuries in just 15 balls against Sunrisers Hyderabad and Mumbai Indians, setting a new record for the fastest fifty in the history of the franchise. In total, he has scored 309 runs at an average of 44.14 and a strike rate of 235.87, with four half-centuries to his name.

Notably, Fraser McGurk has been a dominant force within the powerplay, scoring 245 runs in just 96 balls at an average of 61.2 and a strike rate of 255.20, with 29 fours and 19 sixes. He is also the only Delhi Capitals batter to have scored a half-century within the powerplay in six overs, achieving this feat twice against Sunrisers Hyderabad and Mumbai Indians.
