The Jamestown Sun Calendar is bustling with public events, meetings, and fundraisers this week. On Wednesday, April 17, the day kicks off with James River Alcoholics Anonymous meetings at noon and 8 p.m. at the AA Clubhouse on 518 10th Ave. SE. The Primary Purpose group will also be meeting at 7 p.m. on 116 1st Ave. South. Additionally, the Jamestown Regional Airport Authority will convene at 6 p.m. at the Jamestown Regional Airport, while the Upper Sheyenne River Joint Water Resource Board will meet at 9 a.m. at Garrison Diversion in Carrington.
For the youth in grades 6-12, Jamestown First Assembly Emerge Youth will be hosting activities at 6:30 p.m. at the Slater Center on 805 17th St. SW.
Moving on to Thursday, April 18, the Buffalo City Group AA will have an open speaker meeting at 7:30 p.m. at the United Presbyterian Church on 302 2nd Ave. SE. TOPS ND 312 will meet at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church for weigh-ins at 8 a.m. and the meeting at 9 a.m. James River Alcoholics Anonymous will have their noon and 8 p.m. meetings at the AA Clubhouse, and the Woodchippers Woodcarving Club will gather at the Hansen Arts Studio from 6-8 p.m.
One of the highlights of the week will be the Stutsman County Human Rights Coalition hosting a presentation by Martha Wheeler of Be SMART at 7 p.m. at the Alfred Dickey Public Library. The presentation will focus on promoting the safe storage of guns in homes. Additionally, there will be a public input meeting on the reconstruction of West Business Loop (U.S. 52) at City Hall from 5:30-7:30 p.m., with a brief presentation at 5:45 p.m. Lastly, the Field to Fork Watch Party at NDSU Extension-Stutsman County will explore “the Role of Bees in my Fruit and Vegetable Gardens” at 2 p.m. with free activities for all attendees.
