Jay Williams criticizes Pacers following Game 2 defeat against Knicks

Reading Time: < 1 minute

The Indiana Pacers are not happy with the officiating in their recent playoff games against the New York Knicks. According to reports, the Pacers have filed complaints about 78 incorrect calls or no-calls to the league’s office. Coach Rick Carlisle was particularly vocal about his team not getting a fair shot to compete.

However, NBA analyst Jay Williams had a different take on the situation. He criticized the Pacers for their poor defensive performance in Game 2, calling it the worst defensive display of any team in the playoffs so far. The Knicks managed to score 130 points on 92 possessions, shooting an impressive 56% from the floor and 46% from beyond the arc.

Williams also pointed out missed opportunities for the Pacers, as key players from the Knicks were either injured or unavailable for parts of the game. Despite being in a position to win, the Pacers let the game slip away, allowing the Knicks to make a comeback.

Moving forward, the Pacers will need to tighten up their defense and capitalize on their chances if they want to come out on top in the series. With the Knicks proving to be a tough opponent, the Pacers will need to step up their game to secure a victory in the next matchup.
