JBU tennis team concludes regular season with two victories

The John Brown University men’s tennis team finished its final weekend of regular-season action with a bang, securing two impressive wins out of three matches in Lawrence, Kansas. The Golden Eagles showcased their dominance on the court with runaway victories over Baker and Grand View, solidifying their 10-7 record for the season.

Senior Hudson Dick and sophomore Spencer Keeter set the tone for JBU in doubles play against Baker, clinching a crucial tiebreak win to kickstart the team’s momentum. The duo’s stellar performance was followed by senior Carson Thoma and sophomore Mason Cary’s victory, securing the doubles point for the Golden Eagles.

Freshman Negad Ezzat delivered a clutch performance at the second singles flight, sealing the deal for JBU with a thrilling comeback win. The team continued to shine as Thoma and Dick extended the lead with impressive singles victories, showcasing their skill and determination on the court.

Despite a setback against Missouri Valley, the Golden Eagles bounced back in their weekend finale against Grand View. Hudson Dick’s stellar 15-1 record was further solidified with another commanding win, leading JBU to victory once again.

With their eyes set on the Unaffiliated Group Regional Championships, the Golden Eagles are gearing up for their next challenge at the Dwight Davis Tennis Center in St. Louis.
