Jet2 issues ‘do not travel’ warning for UK tourists traveling to Greek island

Reading Time: < 1 minute

Jet2 has issued a ‘do not travel’ warning to its customers heading to the Greek island of Skiathos due to weather disruption. The airline has suspended flights to the popular tourist destination until tomorrow, Saturday, May 11.

Tourists planning to jet off to Skiathos have been advised not to travel to the airport today, Friday, May 10. The decision comes as the Met Office has forecast heavy rain for the island, with drier conditions expected to return tomorrow.

In a statement on its website, Jet2 apologized to passengers for any inconvenience caused and urged those who have already traveled to the airport to return home and only come back three hours before the new departure time tomorrow. The airline’s Red team at the airport is available to assist passengers with any necessary arrangements.

The unexpected disruption has left many travelers scrambling to adjust their plans, with Jet2 assuring customers that they have done everything possible to minimize the delay. The airline has also sent out detailed information and options to affected passengers via email.

Skiathos, located off the east coast of mainland Greece in the Aegean Sea, is a popular holiday destination known for its beautiful beaches and vibrant nightlife. Jet2 customers are advised to stay updated on the latest information regarding their flights through the airline’s website or by contacting their customer service team.
