Jim Parsons, best known for his role as Sheldon Cooper on “The Big Bang Theory,” has announced that he will not be reprising his iconic character anytime soon. In an exclusive interview with E! News at the Drama League Awards, Parsons revealed that the only way he would consider playing Sheldon again would be through “reincarnation” in the “next lifetime.”
Despite his reluctance to return to the role, Parsons recently made a special appearance as adult Sheldon in the finale of the prequel series “Young Sheldon” alongside his former co-star Mayim Bialik. Reflecting on the experience, Parsons described it as “very, very special” and admitted to feeling a mix of emotions following the end of filming.
Since wrapping up his time as Sheldon, the 51-year-old actor has been processing the experience and coming to terms with the end of an era. He expressed that it was a strange feeling to see the show come to an end both for himself and for fans around the world.
In addition to his cameo in the “Young Sheldon” finale, the prequel series also delivered a shocking moment by killing off Sheldon’s father, George Cooper, played by Lance Barber. However, fans can look forward to another sequel series titled “Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage,” which will focus on Sheldon’s brother and is already in the works.
While Parsons may not be returning to the role of Sheldon anytime soon, fans can still enjoy his past performances and look forward to his future projects.
