Jim Viscardi, well-known in the comic book industry as the co-founder of ComicBook.com, is making a big move to Image Comics. The publisher behind iconic titles like “The Walking Dead” has hired Viscardi as their new VP of Business Development.

Viscardi’s expertise in the comic book space is extensive, having overseen the editorial strategy at ComicBook.com before it was acquired by CBS Interactive. At Image Comics, he will be reporting to Eric Stephenson, the publisher, and chief creative officer.

In a statement, Viscardi expressed his excitement about joining Image Comics, highlighting the publisher’s commitment to artistic freedom and empowerment. He looks forward to contributing to Image’s legacy of supporting creative independence while driving strategic business growth.

Prior to his role at Image Comics, Viscardi worked at Marvel Entertainment, where he was involved in marketing, communications, and retailer relations during major events like “Avengers vs. X-Men” and the introduction of Miles Morales as Spider-Man.
