Reading Time: < 1 minute

Country music artist Jimmie Allen opened up about his struggles with suicidal thoughts following false sexual abuse allegations made against him last year. In a candid interview with Kathie Lee Gifford on his YouTube channel, Allen revealed the emotional turmoil he experienced after his former manager accused him of rape and sexual abuse.

The singer, who has six children, including twins less than a year old, expressed his deep concern for providing for his family amidst the allegations that led to his suspension from his label, booking agency, and manager. Allen admitted that he contemplated suicide as a way to financially support his kids, feeling like his world had collapsed.

However, a timely text from a friend and financial support from another friend helped Allen see a different perspective. He sought help through therapy and a mental health retreat to cope with the overwhelming situation. The “Make Me Want To” singer shared his journey from anger towards his accuser to a place of empathy and understanding.

Reflecting on the experience, Allen emphasized the importance of seeking help and understanding the impact of false accusations on mental health. He encouraged others facing similar struggles to reach out for support. The artist’s story serves as a reminder of the challenges individuals face in the wake of unfounded allegations and the importance of mental health awareness and support.
