Reading Time: < 1 minute

The University of Jamestown baseball team showcased their power at the plate in a thrilling doubleheader against Hastings College on Thursday, April 25. In the first game, the Jimmies secured a 4-1 victory with the help of two crucial home runs. Chase Burke’s two-run blast and Jordan Singleton’s solo shot provided the offensive spark for Jamestown. Jett Nelson also contributed to the scoring by dashing home on a wild pitch.

Despite a solo home run from Hastings College’s Jared Delgado, the Broncos couldn’t catch up to the Jimmies. Julian Sansores’ impressive throw from right field to home plate cut down a potential run-scoring play for the Broncos, solidifying Jamestown’s lead.

In the second game of the tripleheader, the Jimmies continued their power surge with a 6-5 win over Hastings College. Julian Sansores delivered a grand slam in the first inning, propelling Jamestown to an early lead. Isaiah Roebuck’s solo homer in the fifth inning proved to be the game-winning hit for the Jimmies.

Pitcher Hayden Brown closed out the game for Jamestown, securing the victory and the series sweep. The Jimmies’ strong performance at the plate and on the mound showcased their determination and skill in the competitive matchup. Stay tuned for more updates on the University of Jamestown baseball team’s success this season.
