The University of Jamestown track and field teams showcased their talent at the Al Cassell Classic, held at Charlotte and Gordon Hansen Stadium. With 22 top-five finishes, the Jimmies proved their prowess on the track.
Gabriel Trevino led the men’s team with a first-place finish in the 5,000-meter race, followed closely by teammate David Martin in second place. Landon Thompson also impressed with a third-place finish, setting a personal record. In the women’s 5,000-meter race, Keely Arnston, Kirsten Vander Kooi, and Jennifer Tallackson secured second, third, and fourth place, respectively.
The Jimmies relay teams also shined, with the women’s 4×100 relay team finishing third and the men’s team coming in fourth. Dawson Sedivic stood out as the highest finishing thrower, securing second place in the hammer throw.
Looking ahead, the Jimmies are gearing up for the Bison Open on Friday, April 19. The team’s stellar performance at the Al Cassell Classic sets a promising tone for their upcoming competitions. With dedicated athletes and a strong team spirit, the University of Jamestown track and field teams are poised for continued success in the season.
