JioCinema experiences a 38% surge in IPL 2024 viewership, reaching 62 crore audience

JioCinema, the official streaming platform for the TATA IPL 2024 season, has reported a significant surge in audience reach, with a 38% increase in views compared to the previous season. The platform amassed over 2,600 crore video views, translating into over 35,000 crore minutes of watch-time.

The inclusion of 12 language feeds, 4K viewing, multi-cam views, and stadium-like experiences like AR/VR and 360-degree viewing contributed to an increase in the average time spent by viewers, from over 60 minutes in the last season to 75 minutes.

On the opening day of the 2024 season, JioCinema witnessed over 11.3 crore viewers, a 51% rise from the previous year, and registered over 59 crore video views. The platform featured six consumer brands during the opening match and by the end of the season, had 28 sponsors and over 1,400 advertisers.

Expressing confidence in the platform’s growth, a Viacom18 spokesperson stated, “We conclude the TATA IPL 2024 with a promise to continue to redefine the way sports is consumed in India. The growth we are seeing year-on-year assures us that our viewer-centric presentation is engaged with and appreciated.”
