Joe Biden, the 46th President of the United States, has once again found himself in the spotlight for a gaffe during a recent speech. The 81-year-old politician stumbled over his words while discussing former President Barack Obama’s time in the White House, referring to him as “O’Biden” instead.
This latest slip-up has only added to concerns about Biden’s age and competency, with many questioning his ability to run for re-election. A recent opinion poll revealed that only 38 percent of likely 2024 voters believe Biden will still be alive at the end of another four-year term.
These doubts about Biden’s future have also boosted the chances of former President Donald Trump making a return to the White House. RealClearPolitics currently gives Trump an average lead of around 2.5 percent in the polls.
JL Partners co-founder James Johnson, a former pollster for Theresa May, believes that the upcoming election will come down to a handful of key swing states. He stated, “Nevada, Arizona, Georgia, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, and Michigan, that’s where it’s going to come down to and at the moment, it’s really tight.”
Despite the current advantage Trump holds in the polls, Johnson emphasized that a lot can change between now and November. He added, “If you had to put a number on it, there’s a 60 percent probability Trump will win. I think Trump has the advantage, but it’s 60 percent, not 70 or 80. A lot can happen between now and November.”
As the race for the White House heats up, both Biden and Trump are vying for the support of the American people, with the outcome of the election still uncertain.
