Western Michigan University has made a significant addition to their athletic department with the hiring of Joelle Kissell as the new head coach of the women’s tennis program. Kissell brings a wealth of experience and a proven track record of success to the Broncos, having served as an assistant coach at Wichita State and West Virginia University.
During her time at Wichita State, Kissell played a pivotal role in guiding the women’s tennis team to a national ranking as high as No. 55. She helped secure victories over ranked opponents and led the team to success in the AAC Championship. Her coaching journey also includes stints at Seton Hill University and Western Carolina, showcasing her dedication to developing student-athletes both on and off the court.
Kissell’s impressive professional playing career on the ITF Pro Circuit, coupled with her collegiate success at NC State, makes her a well-rounded and accomplished coach. Her commitment to excellence and passion for the sport have earned her praise from colleagues in the tennis community.
