Joey Fatone Shares *NSYNC’s Stance on a Reunion Tour

Reading Time: < 1 minute

In a surprising revelation, it has come to light that Lance Bass was not the original fifth member of the iconic boy band ‘N Sync. The role actually belonged to Jason Galasso, a talented singer who had connections to Joey Fatone and JC Chasez from their high school days.

Galasso’s journey to joining ‘N Sync began when he received a page from Fatone out of the blue, inviting him to join the group. Despite also being part of another singing group called Unreal, Galasso was drawn to the potential of ‘N Sync after a successful rendition of Boyz II Men’s “End of the Road.”

However, Galasso faced a dilemma as both groups vied for his signature on a contract. While the deal with Unreal was straightforward, the ‘N Sync contract presented by Lou Pearlman included a clause making him the sixth member of the group. Feeling unsure about the commitment, Galasso ultimately decided to go with Unreal, a choice that would alter the course of boy band history.

As ‘N Sync began to solidify their lineup and prepare for their debut showcase, Galasso found himself on a different path. Reflecting on his decision, he acknowledged the passion and dedication of his former bandmates, who went on to achieve immense success in the music industry.

Despite not being a household name like his counterparts in ‘N Sync, Jason Galasso’s brief stint as the original fifth member adds an intriguing chapter to the band’s early days and the behind-the-scenes drama that shaped their trajectory.
