UFC Champion Jon Jones Accused of Assaulting Drug Testing Agent

Albuquerque police are currently investigating UFC heavyweight champion Jon Jones for allegedly assaulting and threatening to kill a drug testing agent. Crystal Martinez, an agent for Drug Free Sport, filed a report with the police after visiting Jones’ home on March 30 to collect a sample as part of the UFC’s anti-doping program.

According to Martinez, she was “terrified” during the encounter but was unable to call authorities as Jones had allegedly taken her phone. Jones, however, addressed the allegations on Instagram, claiming that the encounter ended amicably despite his frustration with Martinez and Jerome’s lack of professionalism during the random test.

Martinez reported that Jones initially cooperated with the urine test but became tense and aggressive when a blood test was suggested due to difficulties providing a sample. She also claimed that Jones seemed intoxicated and recorded the agents without consent, making threatening remarks towards them.

Despite feeling threatened and scared, Martinez continued with the test out of fear of retaliation from Jones. After leaving, she filed an internal report and expressed her desire to press charges, with her boss advising her to wait for UFC representatives to handle the situation.
