American actor Josh Charles recently shared his experience of starring in Taylor Swift’s music video for the song ‘Fortnight’ from her album ‘The Tortured Poets Department’. According to People, Charles revealed that the opportunity came about through his Dead Poets Society co-star Ethan Hawke.

Taylor Swift reached out to Maya, Ethan Hawke’s daughter, who then connected Charles with the singer. Charles initially thought Hawke was playing a prank on him when he first received the call about the video. However, he soon realized it was a genuine offer and was excited to be a part of the project.

The Sports Night actor praised Swift’s directorial skills, describing her as an incredible director who knows exactly what she wants. He also commended her genuine and approachable personality, stating that meeting her had increased his admiration for her.

Despite being sworn to secrecy about his involvement in the video, Charles did share the news with a few close individuals, including his wife and father. He even informed his 9-year-old son about his role in the video, knowing that the young boy’s tendency to exaggerate would make it hard for anyone to believe him.

Ethan Hawke also discussed his appearance in the music video on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, revealing that Swift wanted to include a nod to Dead Poets Society in the visual. Both actors expressed their excitement about being a part of the project and keeping the surprise under wraps until the video’s release.
