Julia Garner, known for her role in the hit Netflix series Ozark, has been cast in the upcoming film ‘The Fantastic Four’ where she will be playing Shalla-Bal, a version of Silver Surfer from the Marvel comics. The highly anticipated film will also star Pedro Pascal as Reed Richards, Vanessa Kirby as Sue Storm, Joseph Quinn as Johnny Storm, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Ben Grimm.
Directed by Matt Shakman, known for his work on ‘WandaVision’, the film is set to begin production this summer with a planned release date of July 25, 2025. Garner’s performance in Ozark has earned her three Primetime Emmy Awards, and she has also received recognition for her work in television shows like ‘The Americans’ and ‘Dirty John’.

The character of Silver Surfer was previously portrayed by Doug Jones and voiced by Laurence Fishburne in the 2007 film ‘Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer’.
