Justin Langer, Coach of Lucknow Super Giants, Gives Update on Mayank Yadav’s Injury

Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) head coach Justin Langer has provided an update on star pacer Mayank Yadav’s injury, revealing that despite undergoing “perfect rehabilitation”, the young cricketer is still experiencing soreness in the same area that kept him out of action for over three weeks.

Mayank made a return to the Lucknow side after missing five matches due to a lower abdominal injury. However, during the match against Mumbai Indians at Ekana Cricket Stadium, he had to leave the field after bowling 3.1 overs with figures of 1 for 31.

Langer expressed concern over Mayank’s condition, stating, “Looks like he’s sore in the same spot, his rehab’s been absolutely perfect, he bowled pain-free in the last few weeks or so, he’s looked in great condition. We’ll have a scan and we’ll find out tomorrow.”

LSG skipper KL Rahul also shared insights into Mayank’s discomfort, mentioning that the young bowler complained of pain after bowling the first ball of his fourth over. Rahul emphasized the importance of not risking Mayank’s health and allowing him to develop his skills gradually.

Mayank has played three IPL matches so far, claiming six wickets in total. His performance has been notable, with three wickets each against PBKS and RCB. However, his recent injury setback raises concerns about his availability for future matches and the team’s strategy moving forward.
