Justin Lin to Direct Crime Thriller ‘Stakehorse’ – Entertainment News

Justin Lin, the acclaimed Taiwanese-American film director and TV producer, is all set to direct a new crime thriller titled ‘Stakehorse’ for Amazon MGM Studios. The Hollywood Reporter confirmed that Lin will also produce the film through his banner, Perfect Storm Entertainment, along with Todd Lieberman and Alex Young of Hidden Pictures.

The script for ‘Stakehorse’, written by Justin Piasecki, revolves around a horse veterinarian who provides off-the-books medical care to criminals on the side. Sources have described the project as tonally similar to the crime thriller ‘The Town’, directed by Ben Affleck, and it has already garnered attention by landing near the top of the 2023 Black List.

Lin, known for his work on the ‘Fast & Furious’ franchise and ‘Star Trek Beyond’, is returning to his indie drama roots with ‘Stakehorse’. He is also gearing up to start shooting his passion project, ‘Last Days’, in Thailand at the end of April.

In addition to ‘Stakehorse’, Lin has two other projects in active development, including the Charlize Theron-Daniel Craig thriller ‘Two for the Money’ and ‘One Punch Man’, an adaptation of the popular manga series. With a diverse range of projects in the pipeline, Lin continues to solidify his reputation as a versatile and talented filmmaker in the industry.
