Jyothi Surekha Vennam Continues Winning Streak with Three Gold Medals at Archery World Cup

Vijayawada-based archer, Jyothi Surekha Vennam, has once again showcased her exceptional talent by clinching three gold medals at the Archery World Cup Stage 1 in Shanghai. The 27-year-old ace archer, who recently won three gold medals at the Asian Games, added to her impressive collection with victories in the women’s individual event, mixed event partnering Abhishek Verma, and the women’s team event with Aditi Swami and Parneet Kaur.

Surekha’s remarkable tally of World Cup medals now stands at eight gold medals, four silver medals, and seven bronze medals, totaling an impressive 19 medals in all World Cup competitions. Despite her outstanding performance, Surekha admitted that she did not expect to win the individual gold medal due to her perceived subpar performance.

The talented archer credited her success to the unwavering support of her parents, particularly her father, who encouraged her to persevere in the face of challenges. Surekha also expressed disappointment over the exclusion of the compound bow category from the 2028 Olympics, but remains focused on her passion for the sport.
