Kangana Ranaut Shares Throwback Video of Hema Malini’s Bharatanatyam Performance from 20 Years Ago

Kangana Ranaut, the Bollywood actress turned politician, recently took to Instagram to share a heartwarming throwback video of veteran actress and BJP leader Hema Malini. In the video, a young Hema Malini can be seen gracefully performing Bharatanatyam on stage in her early twenties.

Kangana, who is contesting in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections from Mandi, Himachal Pradesh, praised Hema Malini for her dedication to the arts. She captioned the video, “Even now, Hema ji can give 3-4 hours long performance on stage. People who make fun of dance, music, and art have shallow thinking.”

The actress also highlighted the importance of dance and music in Indian culture, mentioning how even Arjun from the epic Mahabharata learned the art of dance and music. She emphasized that Lord Shiva has bestowed humans with such artistic talents.

Earlier this month, Kangana Ranaut stood up for Hema Malini against sexist and misogynistic comments made by Congress leader Randeep Surjewala. Kangana commended Hema for her lifelong commitment to the arts and condemned the derogatory remarks made by Surjewala.
