The Kannur Art Foundation recently unveiled a mesmerizing display of creativity at Commune, the Art Hub, located within the Kannur Mahatma Mandir in Kerala, India. The exhibition featured the works of twenty talented painters, each showcasing their unique techniques and subjects in a kaleidoscope of colors.
Visitors were treated to a diverse range of artistry, with around 80 paintings and six sculptures on display. One of the organizers of the event highlighted the essence of the art being presented, stating that the paintings reflected the nature of the painters, offering a glimpse into the artistic landscape of Kerala.
Among the highlights of the exhibition were T Kaladhar’s Artic-style paintings, created directly on glass for a visually striking experience. The exhibition also featured a poignant painting by Central Lalitha Kala Academy’s Best Painter Kumaran, addressing concerns over the destruction of nature.
Young painters also showcased their talent, utilizing mediums such as acrylic, charcoal, and watercolor. Notable artists like Sreeja Pallam, O Sundar, Binuraj Kalapeetham, Dhanraj Keezhra, TT Unnikrishnan, and Lata Devi displayed their works, curated under the coordination of Varghese Kalam.
In addition to paintings, sculptures by artists Sunnypaul, Prem P. Laxman, and Navneet Raj were also featured. Navneet’s sculpture ‘Dookan’ stood out for its intricate detailing despite its compact size.
The exhibition will be open for art enthusiasts to explore until May 7, offering a unique opportunity to immerse themselves in the vibrant world of creativity.
