Karan Bhushan, son of wrestling legend Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, follows in his father’s footsteps in the wrestling world

BJP’s Kaiserganj candidate Karan Bhushan Singh is making headlines not just for his political aspirations, but also for his impressive background in the world of wrestling. The younger son of sitting MP Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh, Karan is no stranger to the sport, being the president of the Uttar Pradesh Wrestling Association.

Having been elected to this prestigious position in February, Karan follows in his father’s footsteps, as Brij Bhushan headed the Wrestling Federation of India for over a decade. However, the elder Singh is currently facing charges of sexually harassing women wrestlers, which has tarnished his reputation in the sports world.

Apart from wrestling, Karan Bhushan has also excelled in other sports, having been a national level double trap shooter. Born on December 13, 1990, he is a law graduate and holds a diploma in business management from Australia. Additionally, he serves as the chairman of a Cooperative Bank in Gonda district.

With a son and a daughter, Karan is actively involved in managing the day-to-day affairs of his father’s constituency. The announcement of his candidacy in Kaiserganj has been met with excitement, despite the controversy surrounding his father. Brij Bhushan’s influence in the constituency remains strong, as he won by a significant margin in the last election.
