The envoys of Australia and the US have praised the women of Saudi Arabia for their remarkable achievements and contributions across various sectors of the country’s economy. In a recent interview with Arab News, the US Deputy Chief of Mission Alison Dilworth and Australia’s Deputy Head of Mission Kim Ralston shared their experiences of working alongside Saudi women and commended their perseverance and dedication.

Dilworth expressed her admiration for the Saudi women she has met, highlighting their accomplishments in fields such as technology, finance, arts, and diplomacy. She emphasized the importance of celebrating women’s achievements through events like the Women’s Majlis, a series of monthly gatherings co-hosted by multiple embassies to recognize and promote women’s success in different areas.

On the other hand, Ralston discussed the close collaboration between Australia and Saudi Arabia in agriculture and food security, with a focus on promoting trade and removing barriers. She praised the intelligence and drive of Saudi women, noting their passion for their work and their eagerness to achieve their goals.

Both envoys acknowledged the Kingdom’s efforts to ensure gender equality and empower women in traditionally male-dominated fields, such as the military. They also highlighted the positive impact of events like the Women’s Majlis in fostering cooperation and sharing experiences between Saudi and foreign women.

Despite misconceptions about Saudi women, Dilworth and Ralston encouraged people to visit the Kingdom and witness firsthand the talent, motivation, and achievements of Saudi women. They emphasized the importance of challenging stereotypes and promoting a more accurate understanding of the capabilities and aspirations of women in Saudi society.

Overall, the envoys’ remarks reflect a deep appreciation for the progress and potential of Saudi women, as well as a commitment to supporting their continued advancement and success. Through collaboration and dialogue, they aim to strengthen ties between women from different countries and contribute to a more inclusive and diverse global community.
