Keep an eye on these 14 talented Tuscaloosa area tennis players at the state tournament

The 2024 high school tennis season is coming to a thrilling conclusion as the state tournament in Mobile approaches. After intense sectional tournaments, teams and individuals have fought hard to earn their spots in the state competition.

Northridge boys and girls emerged victorious in the Class 6A, Section 4 Tournament, with Hillcrest boys and girls as runners-up. The Demopolis girls claimed the Class 4A-5A, Section 2 title, while Tuscaloosa Academy triumphed in the Class 1A-3A, Section 2 Tournament.

As the state tournament looms, all eyes are on 14 standout players from the Tuscaloosa area who are set to make a mark on the competition. Among them are Davis Shelton from American Christian Academy, Griffin Armstrong from Hillcrest, and Jonni Kneer from Tuscaloosa Academy, all of whom have had exceptional seasons leading up to the state tournament.
