Escanaba High School senior Keira Maki has added another impressive achievement to her already stellar basketball career. Maki was recently named to the Division 2 Second Team All-State by the Associated Press.
During her final season with the Eskymos, Maki showcased her skills on the court, averaging 22.1 points, 8.1 rebounds, 2.8 blocks, and 2.7 assists per game. She set multiple program records, including shooting 55% from the floor, recording 62 blocks, and 60 steals in a single season. Maki also reached a significant milestone by becoming the sixth player in school history to score over 1,000 career points, finishing with 1,189 points.
The AP’s full list of Division 2 All-State recipients includes standout players like Vanessa Rodriguez from Ann Arbor Father Gabriel Richard and Mia McLaughlin from Frankenmuth. Maki’s exceptional performance throughout the season earned her a well-deserved spot on the Second Team All-State roster.
Maki’s dedication and talent have not gone unnoticed, and her contributions to the Escanaba High School basketball team have left a lasting impact.
