Drew Barrymore found herself in a real-life horror movie scenario during a recent date with someone she thought she knew. The actress shared the chilling experience on her talk show, revealing that she had a gut feeling that her date was going to murder her.

Barrymore explained that she felt safe going on the date because she knew people who knew the guy. However, when they arrived at his apartment, she noticed that he was in the middle of a remodel, which piqued her interest as a home design enthusiast.

As they explored the house, they ended up in the basement, where Barrymore’s horror movie instincts kicked in. Her co-host, Ross Mathews, jokingly scolded her for going to the basement, reminding her that she was in “Scream” and should know better.

The date took a bizarre turn when Barrymore saw a large roll of clear plastic wrap in the laundry room, prompting her to make a quick exit back upstairs. Despite the creepy encounter, Barrymore and her date bonded over the awkward moment and continued to joke about it whenever they saw each other.

Barrymore, who has been open about her dating life, shared that she has struggled to find meaningful connections on dating apps. However, she remains determined to overcome her fears and put herself out there, even if it means encountering more unexpected and potentially terrifying situations.

The actress, who has been married twice before, remains optimistic about finding love again and is willing to take risks in the pursuit of happiness.
