Las Vegas Aces point guard Kelsey Plum and Giants tight end Darren Waller have officially called it quits after just one year of marriage. The couple filed for divorce in Clark County District Court in Las Vegas, as confirmed by online records.
Plum took to social media to share her heartbreak, stating, “I’m devastated. I walked through fire for that man, but now I see it’s time to go.” The 29-year-old athlete expressed gratitude for the love and support from her family and friends during this difficult time.
Speculation about the couple’s relationship had been circulating, especially after Waller posted a TikTok video earlier this year with the caption, “When ya girl bout to leave you.” Waller later clarified that it was just a joke.
Despite the challenges in their personal lives, both Plum and Waller have been focused on their respective careers. Plum is gearing up for the 2024 WNBA season, while Waller is contemplating whether to retire or return to the Giants for the 2024 NFL season.
As they navigate this new chapter in their lives, Plum ended her social media post with a message of choosing joy and moving forward. The former couple had tied the knot in March 2023, shortly before Waller was traded to the Giants from the Raiders. Stay tuned for updates on their individual journeys post-divorce.
