Kemper and Eisenmenger Conclude Strong Seasons as Athletes of the Week in Sports

Reading Time: < 1 minute

Unity softball pitcher Danika Eisenmenger and St. Thomas More baseball player Cole Kemper have been named Athletes of the Week, sponsored by Copper Creek Contractors. Eisenmenger showcased her talent by pitching 12 scoreless innings with seven strikeouts in a thrilling 1-0 win against Windsor/Stewardson-Strasburg. She also tossed four scoreless innings in another victory against Tuscola. Eisenmenger credits her success to her incredible defense and supportive teammates.

Kemper, on the other hand, delivered strong performances with a trio of hits, including two doubles and three RBI in a win against Milford. Despite the Sabers’ season ending in the regional semifinals, Kemper expressed gratitude for his nomination and the support from his friends. He reminisced about his favorite baseball memory of pitching in the state championship in eighth grade and winning with his high school teammates.

Both athletes shared their favorite TV shows, music genres, superpower wishes, and bucket list items. Eisenmenger hopes to attend a Zach Bryan concert and make it to state for softball, while Kemper aspires to become a lawyer and take a trip with friends. They also revealed their pre-game rituals and future goals.

The finalists for Athlete of the Week included Libby Henry, Andrea Li, and Abby Sabalaskey for various sports achievements. Congratulations to Danika Eisenmenger and Cole Kemper for their outstanding performances and well-deserved recognition.
