Kendrick Perkins Praises Mavericks’ Rookie

Reading Time: < 1 minute

The Dallas Mavericks pulled off a stunning comeback in Game 2 against the Minnesota Timberwolves, erasing an 18-point deficit to secure a crucial road victory. Despite being outplayed in the first half, the Mavericks rallied behind their star player Luka Doncic, who hit a game-winning 3-pointer over Rudy Gobert.

In addition to Doncic’s heroics, rookie center Dereck Lively also made a significant impact on both ends of the floor. Lively’s stellar performance did not go unnoticed, as former NBA player Kendrick Perkins took to Twitter to praise the young talent.

Perkins commended Lively for outplaying established stars like Karl-Anthony Towns and Rudy Gobert, highlighting the Mavericks’ development of the rookie. Lively, the No. 10 overall pick in the 2023 NBA Draft, has shown maturity beyond his years, excelling as a lob threat and rim protector for Dallas.

With Lively stepping up in high-pressure situations, the Mavericks have found a valuable asset in the young center. As the series progresses, all eyes will be on Lively to see if he can continue his impressive play and help lead the Mavericks to further success. Stay tuned for more updates on this rising star in the NBA.
