Kendrick Perkins Shares Thoughts on Orlando Magic’s Playoff Elimination

Reading Time: < 1 minute

The Orlando Magic had a surprising and impressive season in the 2023-24 NBA regular season, exceeding expectations by clinching the fifth seed in the Eastern Conference playoffs. Despite being considered a young team still finding its identity, the Magic managed to secure 47 wins and the top spot in the Southeast division.

In a winner-take-all Game 7 against the Cleveland Cavaliers, the Magic fought hard with Paolo Banchero leading the charge. Banchero had a standout performance, scoring 38 points, grabbing 16 rebounds, and contributing three steals and two assists. His stellar play caught the attention of ESPN analyst Kendrick Perkins, who praised the young star on social media.

However, Banchero’s efforts were not enough to overcome Donovan Mitchell’s impressive performance for the Cavaliers, who scored a game-high 39 points. Despite holding an 18-point lead at one point, the Magic ultimately fell short as the Cavaliers mounted a comeback in the second half to secure the win and advance to the second round to face the Boston Celtics.

Although the Magic may have been eliminated from the playoffs, the future looks bright with Banchero showing signs of becoming a potential superstar for the team. Fans and analysts alike are excited to see what the young talent can achieve in the seasons to come for Orlando.
