Reading Time: < 1 minute

The Kenya Lionesses Fifteens squad has been announced for the upcoming Rugby Africa Women’s Cup in Madagascar, with Natasha Emali leading the team as captain. The squad sees thirteen changes from the previous competition in Dubai, with experienced players like Linet Moraa making a return to the team.

Coach Paul Murunga expressed confidence in the team’s mental strength, stating that they are in a much better position compared to last year. He also mentioned that the squad has been training for around two months, with many players having experience in the Kenya Cup.

Despite missing some backline players who are currently training with the national 7s side, Murunga is hopeful that the selected squad members will be able to step up and perform well in the upcoming tournament. The team will be facing tough competition from defending champions South Africa, hosts Madagascar, and Cameroon in the round-robin format.

The Rugby Africa Women’s Cup is set to take place from May 4-12 in Antananarivo, Madagascar. The Lionesses squad includes a mix of experienced players and seven rookies who will be making their debut in the competition. Fans are eagerly anticipating the team’s performance and hoping for a strong showing in the tournament.
