New York: Security has been heightened in New York as ISIS-K has issued a threat of a “Lone Wolf” attack on the upcoming India-Pakistan World Cup Cricket match scheduled for June 9. The Police Commissioner of Nassau County, Patrick Ryder, has warned of the potential danger posed by the terror group’s call for action.

In response to the threat, New York Governor Kathy Hochul has directed the state police to implement increased security measures, including advanced surveillance and thorough screening processes. Additional police officers will be deployed at the cricket stadium in Eisenhower Park to ensure the safety of residents and visitors.

The threat, initially posted in a chat group by ISIS-Khorasan, has raised concerns about the safety of the event. Despite earlier statements downplaying the threat, officials are taking the situation seriously and are closely monitoring developments.

With the display of drones as potential attack vehicles, security officials have requested the Federal Aviation Administration to designate Eisenhower Park as a no-fly zone for drones.
