Koltsovo International Airport Introduces New, Convenient Pre-Flight Check Procedure
Koltsovo International Airport is set to revolutionize the pre-flight check process for international flights, making it more convenient for passengers and their companions. According to AVIA.RU, the new procedure will allow passengers to head directly to the check-in counters upon entering the international terminal, where they can receive their boarding passes and check their luggage. This setup will be similar to the one in the domestic terminal, allowing passengers to be accompanied by their companions during this process.
Following check-in, passengers will then proceed to the pre-flight security screening and customs control areas on the second floor of the terminal. Access to these areas will be provided through escalators, stairs, or elevators located in the domestic terminal. Once through security and customs, passengers will then make their way to the border control area and departure lounge as usual.
In preparation for the launch of this new route, the navigation system at Koltsovo Airport has been updated. Additionally, additional mobile signs will be installed in the terminals for the initial period to assist passengers.
Alexander Pastukhov, Executive Director of Koltsovo Airport, highlighted that this transition to a new passenger service scheme for international flights is part of a larger technical re-equipment of the international terminal. The upgrade will almost double the terminal’s capacity, with ongoing work on modernizing the passport control checkpoint and introducing new technologies.
Passengers are reminded that check-in for international flights begins three hours before departure and are strongly advised to arrive at the airport in advance to ensure a smooth travel experience.
