KONE purchases Orbitz Elevators on the Gold Coast

Reading Time: < 1 minute

Gold Coast-based Orbitz Elevators has been acquired by Finnish multinational KONE in a deal that marks a significant milestone for the company founded by British migrant Jonathan Dwayre a decade ago. The acquisition, for an undisclosed sum, will see KONE take over Orbitz Elevators’ service business in Australia and all lines of business in New Zealand.

KONE Australia managing director Marek Oppeln-Bronikowski expressed excitement about the acquisition, stating that it complements KONE’s existing service offerings in the South-Pacific region and beyond. He emphasized the value that the combination of the two companies’ experience will bring to customers.

Jonathan Dwayre, who was named the Gold Coast Young Entrepreneur of the Year in 2019, reflected on the journey of Orbitz Elevators, highlighting the focus on creating exceptional customer experiences over the past decade. He expressed confidence in the benefits of joining forces with KONE, citing access to their expertise, supply chain, and resources as key factors in providing customers with innovative and sustainable products and services.

Dwayre’s entrepreneurial spirit and determination were evident from the early days of Orbitz Elevators when he identified gaps in the Australian elevator market and took a significant risk to establish the business. His dedication and hard work have paid off, leading to the successful acquisition by KONE and a promising future for Orbitz Elevators under new ownership.
