Reading Time: < 1 minute

The Chevron Championship in The Woodlands, Texas was filled with excitement as Nelly Korda, one of the top-ranked players, was just one shot off the lead when the third round was suspended due to lightning in the area. Korda, who is aiming to tie an LPGA Tour record with her fifth consecutive victory, was 3-under through 11 holes in the third round and 10 under overall.

Canadian Brooke Henderson also made a remarkable surge up the leaderboard, shooting an impressive 8-under 59 through 17 holes to tie with Korda for second place. Henderson, with 13 LPGA wins and two majors under her belt, showcased her putting skills with a streak of 10 one-putts, including six birdies and an eagle.

Meanwhile, Atthaya Thitikul held the lead at 11 under through 12 holes before play was suspended. The 21-year-old from Thailand, who has already won twice on the LPGA Tour, expressed uncertainty about the playing conditions on Sunday due to expected rain overnight.

With the third round set to resume on Sunday morning and the final round scheduled to follow shortly after, the competition is heating up at the first major of the LPGA season. Stay tuned to see if Korda can make history with her fifth straight victory or if another contender will rise to the occasion.
