Kosciusko Connect Introduces Fiber Internet Education to Sixth-Graders in the Local Community

Reading Time: < 1 minute

Kosciusko Connect, a fiber internet provider, recently teamed up with Washington STEM Academy to bring an interactive and educational experience to sixth-grade students. The partnership aimed to introduce students to the science behind fiber internet technology through hands-on activities aligned with Indiana state education standards.

Haley Donahue, a customer engagement specialist at Kosciusko Connect, collaborated with STEM coach Derek Pike to design a series of engaging lessons for the students. The activities included demonstrations on how fiber optic signals are transmitted, factors that can interfere with WiFi signals, and the difference between analog and digital signals.

“Our goal was to make learning about this technology fun and accessible,” said Donahue. The students actively participated in the experiments and asked questions about the technology, making the fiber presentation day both educational and entertaining.

Kosciusko Connect is dedicated to supporting local education and promoting STEM education among young learners. By investing in the community and enhancing digital literacy, the company aims to provide students with a deeper understanding of fiber technology.
