South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem’s upcoming biography, “No Going Back,” is making headlines for all the wrong reasons. The book, set to be released on Tuesday, has already come under fire for containing false anecdotes and errors that are now being corrected.
One such false anecdote involves a meeting between Gov. Noem and North Korean leader Kim Jong-un. The book claimed that Gov. Noem had met with Kim during her time in Congress, but a spokesman for Gov. Noem confirmed that this was not true and that the anecdote would be removed from future editions of the book.
Additionally, the book also contained an error regarding a phone call with former South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley. This error will also be corrected in future editions of the book.
Despite these corrections, the book has already sparked controversy for a grisly excerpt in which Gov. Noem describes killing a family dog. She has been defending her decision to include this story, stating that it illustrates the tough decisions she has had to make in her life.
As Gov. Noem faces scrutiny over these inaccuracies and controversial passages, the release of her biography is sure to be closely watched. With speculation swirling about her potential as a running mate for former President Donald Trump, the spotlight on Gov. Noem is only set to intensify in the coming days.
